The Q’ero community lives at a height of 14,000 feet in the mountains of the Peruvian Andes, and they are considered the last descendants of the Incas. The shaman will share and perform some ancestral ceremonies with us.

* The hike to Wayna Picchu mountain is subject to availability of spaces granted by the Ministry of Culture. They are booked well in advance and have a limit of 400 spaces per day distributed in 3 shifts.

  1. Day 1 Arrival Cusco, transfer to the Sacred Valley

    Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel through the landscapes of the Sacred Valley. En route you will visit Awanacancha ranch, where you may learn the weaving ancestral techniques.

    Continuing the visit with the town and market of Pisaq.

    At the hotel, if time permits and so you wish, observe how the sunset gives way to a starry sky. Astronomy for the Incas was very important; they believed that the moon and the sun were deities, and that each constellation has a purpose. Enjoy the rest of the evening and relax in the hotel facilities.

  2. Day 2 Sacred Valley Tour: Ollantaytambo- Maras- Moray

    Enjoy a full day guided tour in the Sacred Valley and visit the impressive Ollantaytambo fortress, Maras saltpans and the Inca agricultural laboratory of Moray.

    Meet the Q’ero shaman (Mallku Condor) and participate in a private reading of the coca leaf, a sacred plant for the entire Inca culture and to this day. Visit an old house to immerse yourself in local life and learn about the ancestral customs of its inhabitants.

  3. Day 3 Inca Trail

    Board the Vistadome train for a 6-hour adventure walking along the sacred Inca trail toward Machu Picchu citadel. At dusk we will arrive at the Sungate (Inti Punku) looking from above the impressive lost city of the Incas. This road, although strenuous, is extremely rewarding as you walk along the steps of the Incas.

  4. Day 4 Cleaning ritual/ Machu Picchu

    Have a mystical experience surrounded by mountains and waterfalls with the Q’ero shaman, who will perform a cleaning ritual in a special place. In the afternoon, go up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour through temples and sacred places such as the temple of the sun, the sacred square, the main temple, the solar clock, the temple of the condor, the sacred rock … You will have time at leisure after the guided tour for photos or watch the sunset from this magical place, perfect time to give thanks to life with the three coca leaves (“kintu”) that the shaman will give you.

  5. Day 5 From Machu Picchu to Cusco

    Enjoy the free morning to relax or take an optional activity before returning to Cusco in the afternoon. You can choose between returning to Machu Picchu, hike to Wayna Picchu mountain or to the Inca drawbridge. Otherwise, stroll through the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes.

    Wayna Picchu* is the mountain located at the background of Machu Picchu, known for its “stairs to heaven”, with steep steps and ritual structures. This mountain had great spiritual significance for the Incas.

  6. Day 6 Cusco city tour/ Offering ceremony

    Guided visit to the most outstanding pre-Hispanic sites. The Spaniards called fortress to impressive walls that are located in the outskirts of Cusco. In Sacsaywaman, some of its stones have 200 tons of weight. Enter through a network of underground roads or “chinkanas” that connect the city. Get to know Q’enqo temple dedicated to the mummification of bodies and the transit to the afterlife. Participate directly in a ceremony to Mother Earth (Pacha Mama) conducted by Mallku Cóndor.

  7. Day 7 Cusco- Transfer to the Airport

    Design your day with a range of inspiring options. Tour the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas, a paradise for local artisans; or enjoy a restorative spa treatment. Visit the Cathedral of Cusco in the plaza de armas and the Temple of Santo Domingo (Coricancha). Or simply walk through the cobblestone streets of the historic center of Cusco considered by UNESCO as a world heritage.

    Return to Lima in the afternoon for your international flight connection or continue to your next destination.

VALLE SAGRADO:

Tambo del Inka.- This luxury establishment located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is the only hotel in Urubamba that has a private train station with connections to Machu Picchu. The establishment has a swimming pool and spa. The rooms are elegant and feature regional fabrics and a typical local design. All have a private balcony with views of the natural environment, LCD TV, exclusive marble bathroom. A buffet breakfast is offered daily.


Casona de Yucay.- This hotel occupies an 18th-century building located in the magical Sacred Valley. It offers cozy and modern rooms distributed around a colorful patio. The rooms of the hotel are decorated with traditional Inca fabrics, have natural wood floors and large windows with panoramic views of the garden and the mountains. The restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner with regional and international dishes. Next to the bar of La Casona there is a common fireplace, ideal to get together and chat with the other guests. It has wireless internet connection.


 

MACHU PICCHU:

Inkaterra Machupicchu Pueblo hotel.- It offers spacious rooms with tiled floors and a seating area, as well as massage sessions. The price of accommodation includes buffet breakfast and dinner à la carte. Inkaterra’s rooms are elegantly decorated with Andean tapestries and include cotton bedding, alpaca blankets and four-poster beds. Some rooms also have Wi-Fi connection, fireplace, marble sink or private pool. The restaurant overlooks Vilcanota River and serves Andean cuisine. The staff of Inkaterra Machu Picchu organizes walking tours in the surroundings. The hotel facilities include a lounge with a library and a gift shop.


Terraza de Luna.- The hotel is 400 meters from the thermal baths of Machu Picchu, offers bar service, terrace and views of the city. The accommodation has a restaurant, 24-hour reception, room service and free Wi-Fi. It features a tourist information desk, luggage storage and a currency exchange service. All hotel rooms are equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV, kitchen and dining area. The rooms are equipped with wardrobe and private bathroom. A buffet breakfast is served every morning.


Sumaq MachuPicchu.- This luxury hotel offers a privileged location along the Urubamba River and only 20 minutes by bus from the archaeological zone of Machu Picchu. It offers comfort, elegance and tranquility, in addition to an Andean design. There is free WiFi. It offers spacious and luxurious rooms with seating areas. All have cable TV and heating. Some rooms have a private balcony with views of the mountains and the Urubamba River. The Qunuq à la carte restaurant serves Peruvian cuisine. Guests can also enjoy a drink at the Suquy Cafe & Bar. CUSCO:

 

JW Marriott Convent.- This hotel features stunning interior decoration with exposed antique bricks, vaulted ceilings and stylish designer furniture. Cusco Cathedral and the main square are just 2 streets away. The JW Marriott Convent houses a beautiful colonial-style patio with sculpted stone arch, a massage room and gift shop. The elegant rooms feature parquet floors, upholstered chairs and dark wood accessories, there are also rooms with oxygen supplement system. JW Marriot’s 2 restaurants serve Peruvian and international dishes in an elegant atmosphere.


Xima Hotel.- Xima Cusco Hotel is right in front of the largest craft market in the city. It offers modern rooms with buffet breakfast included. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen LCD cable TV. Some have a balcony. There is also free wired internet connection in all facilities. In addition, it has a spa where special treatments and relaxing massages are offered in a unique environment, using special elements and techniques of the Inca culture that revitalize the body, mind and spirit. The spa also has a sauna, hot tub and special oxygen room.

It is a private project with a small museum where they have information about South American camelids and explain how their fiber has been used from remote times until today. Replicas of ceramics from ancestral cultures of Peru are also exhibited and we will learn how they used them. At the ranch visitors can feed llamas and alpacas that for adults, and especially for children, are a great attraction. Here you will also see indigenous people from different communities who are temporarily making their textiles in the presence of visitors. When they finish their fabrics, they are sold in the showroom. We will also learn about the natural materials that they use to dye alpaca fibers and thus achieve a variety of colors.

 

The Q´ero shaman Mallku Kuntur will take you to a special place near Machu Picchu in some waterfalls. There, with his ancestral knowledge he will initiate you on the path of shamanism, doing a ritual of cleansing of the physical and spiritual body. He will use condor feathers and natural seeds, performing songs according to his custom.

 

We suggest writing in advance to our reservations department (reservas@porcelltoursperu.com) at least 6 months before your arrival at Machu Picchu. This half-day Inca trail is highly demanded and spaces are limited.
